I'm Becks Tosswill. And I'm a farmer's daughter.

Not in a cute, metaphorical way. Literally.

I grew up on a sheep and beef farm here in the Wairarapa. Both sets of my grandparents were farmers. My dad's father was a prominent Romney breeder - so a love of wool and a respect for what gets built on the land has been part of me from the start.

My Grandpa, a dairy farmer, used to say: "If you're standing still, you're going backwards." I didn't fully get it as a kid. Now it's basically my life philosophy.

I went to design school in Whanganui, moved to Wellington, and spent years in agency life learning the creative world - research, methodology, clients, relationships, collaboration, and marketing. But the rhythms of rural life never left me.

How we work

Farmers Daughter has grown into something I am genuinely proud of. We are not just a design studio - we are a brand strategy practice built for the rural sector, with a collective of senior specialists who each bring depth in their own field.

Design and illustration. Brand photography. Digital and production. Packaging and print. Every discipline is handled by someone who does that thing at the highest level, not a generalist wearing multiple hats.

I lead every strategy engagement personally. You will always have a direct line to me. You are never handed to a junior.

"The judges were highly impressed with the way you presented your story, and thought that the business you've built is outstanding. You are a wonderful example of a quality enterprise run from a rural property."

Together we grow

The best brand work I have ever done has been for founders who are building something they care about deeply - a farm, a product, a family business, a legacy.

They come to me not just because they need a logo. They come because they need someone who already understands their world - who can see what they have built and translate it clearly enough that the right people finally see it too.

If that is where you are, I would love to hear about what you are building.
